About the Ora Knowledge Foundation

The Ora Knowledge Foundation is an initiative in formation around a shared mission: to keep cognitive automation, knowledge access, and the frameworks that make cognitive capability usable free, broadly distributed, and resistant to concentrated control.

Current status. The Foundation is not incorporated and is not accepting donations at this time. Existing public work is founder-led or part of the Ora project. Foundation functions described on this site are intended work, not a claim that an institution is already operating.

What exists now

The Ora project has released its code and other selected artifacts to the public domain. The project also publishes framework and methodology material, a public documentation surface, and a reachable preview of this institutional site. Those are observable artifacts; they are not evidence that a Foundation has already been formed.

Current work is led by the founder under personal effort. Main Street Independent is an existing, separately operated publication that uses Ora’s framework methodology on a daily news beat. It is evidence that the methodology is being used, not a Foundation program or legal subsidiary.

What the Foundation is intended to do

If and when the Foundation is formed, its intended work includes public-domain stewardship, knowledge and framework publishing, education, public-interest analysis, service to people poorly served by conventional systems, and principled responses to cognitive-tool chokepoints. These are areas of intended work, not a promise that each function has current staff, partnerships, committees, review machinery, or infrastructure.

The Foundation’s institutional structure is still under review. The earlier seven-component proposal and the separate provisional Passion/Operation model remain unresolved. This page describes intended work without resolving that choice.

Formation and donations

The Foundation is not incorporated. The Ora project can continue publishing public-domain work while the institutional question remains open, but the present work should not be described as the activity of an existing charity.
